Self Isolating, why not!

Self Isolating, but still want to getaway? A Freedom Motorhomes holiday is the perfect solution!

“We are so blessed in Scotland to have such fantastic scenery on our doorstep”

We are coming to the end of the first stages of lockdown and the government has advised that those isolating can now take part in non-contact outdoor activities such as golf and hiking, as of the 19th June 2020. And they still aim to open up the tourism sector for the 15th July 2020. So now is the time to start planning your self-isolated Motorhome adventure.

We want to explain some of the measures we’ve taken so that you can have peace of mind you’ll be safe while having a self-isolated Freedom Motorhomes Holiday. We’ve even invested in an Ozone machine to be sure no surface is left untouched:

  • All motorhomes undergo a full deep clean between hires, using the best products possible, proven to kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, including coronavirus.

  • Once the Motorhome is clean and set up for your holiday, we then install our Ozone machine just inside the door so it can be lifted out afterward without us having to enter the vehicle again. Ozone machines are used by some hospitals as a means of sanitising theatre rooms, ambulances etc. The room or space has to be clear of anything living, all doors and windows are sealed, the machines have timers to run the clean cycle for the time required (Depending on the size of the space). The way they work is by turning oxygen into O3. This eradicates all bacteria and viruses in the air and on all surfaces within the space, so there is no surface untouched within our vehicles. Once the clean cycle is complete, we then lift the machine out the door and leave the motorhome to air out, ready for you to collect. So you can rest assured our vehicles are as clean as possible.

The great thing about a motorhome holiday is you have everything you’ll need for your holiday, within your home from home. You’re not having to enter hotels wondering if they’ve been cleaned sufficiently, you’re not having to pack bags between accommodation, you can travel where you want each day and stop wherever you like, and is suitable. You have gas bottles for cooking and heating, a water supply for the sinks, toilet & shower. A fridge freezer to keep your favourite treats fresh for dinner. Plenty of storage for all your belongings, and the Arran, Jura & Skye motorhomes all have bike carriers for 4 bikes on the rear, perfect for taking your bikes if you enjoy a wee cycle exploring your surroundings.

We are so blessed in Scotland to have such fantastic scenery on our doorstep. Scotland has regularly been voted the most beautiful country to visit by readers of many of the world’s top travel magazines. Whether you fancy doing the South West Coastal 300 route, the North Coast 500 route, visiting some of the West Coast and Islands, or a tour up through the lower Highlands and Speyside. There truly is something for everyone.

The West Coast of Scotland is full of striking scenery, especially the further North you get. The first time I travelled the North Coast 500 I remember being struck by the sheer beauty and solitude of the never-ending beaches, empty beaches, sometimes not a single person in sight! Absolutely beautiful, and something to treasure for a lifetime, a true gift!

“I remember being struck by the sheer beauty and solitude of the never-ending beaches”

One of the benefits of touring Scotland this summer is that we probably won’t have the usual influx of tourists, so you’ll be sure to have more tranquillity than you would normally.

If you’ve never done a motorhome holiday, now’s the time to try it out. They’re perfect for young families, couples and groups of friends alike. We’ve opened bookings from the 18th of July. Rest assured, if for any reason the tourism sector opening is delayed and it affects your trip in any way, we guarantee a 100% refund straight away and/or amendment to your dates.
