Here’s the most common question’s we are asked about Motorhome and Campervan Hire in Scotland: 

  1. Q. What is minimum number of nights I can hire for?     A.  Minimum 3 nights, other than High Season which is Minimum 7 nights.
  2. Q. What age are your vehicles?     A. All our Motorhomes and Campervan are currently brand new 2020 and 2021 models, with a new fleet due for 2022.
  3. Q. What age do I have to be to hire a Motorhome?     A. We hire our Motorhomes and Campervan to anyone aged 25yrs – 75yrs with 2 years driving experience.
  4. Q. What time can I collect the motorhome and what time does it need to be back?    A. Normal collection time is from 15:00 and return by 11:00, we can sometimes offer earlier collections and later returns subject to the schedule, we can sometimes offer a guaranteed early collection or later return for an additional fee, email us to ask.
  5. Q. Can I drive the Motorhome with a standard driving license?     A. Yes, you can drive any of our vehicles with a standard driving license as they are all under 3500kg. 
  6. Q. Is insurance included?     A. Yes, insurance is included with all our hires. There is a £1000 excess deposit, that you receive back on the day you return the vehicle, and you’re welcome to take out your own excess insurance.
  7. Q. Can I drop off the Motorhome to a different location?     A. Yes, subject to a surcharge to cover our costs in meeting you there and getting the vehicle back to our base.
  8. Q. Is a gas canister included?     A. Yes, you will be provided with a partially full gas canister. You can pay £40 to have a full canister on collection. The “Iona” Campervan has a 25 Litre LPG tank which will be partially full. 
  9. Q. Can I bring my dog? A. Yes, we do have dog friendly motorhomes, we do have an extra fee of £50 to cover the extra clean including a special sanitisation and deodorising. And just ask that any dogs in the motorhomes are well behaved and wouldn’t chew or scratch anything, and that you use your own blankets for the dog to sit on etc.
  10. Q. What is your Best Price Guarantee?     A. We guarantee to have the best prices for our models of motorhome, if you find a comparable company & vehicle at a better price (within 7 days of booking), we will refund the difference plus 10%.
  11. Q. Do your vehicles come with breakdown cover?     A. Yes, all our vehicles come with 24hr breakdown cover. That said, they are all new vehicles kept in great condition and have never had a breakdown to date. 
  12. Q. Do you hire per night or per day?     A. All our hires are per night, therefore a 3 night hire gives you the best part of 4 days but doesn’t cost you for 4 days hire. 
  13. Q. What proof of address is acceptable?     A. You must provide a total of 2 proofs of address from the following: 
    1x primary proof of address and 1x secondary proof of address, or 2x primary proof of address:

    Both must be dated within 90 days of the hire date. The address & name on your licence must match both documents.

  14. Q. Do you have any extra safety measures in place for cleanliness to protect from Covid19?     A. Yes, as standard we clean the motorhomes from top to bottom with special cleaning products proven to kill Coronavirus between hires anyway, and as extra precaution we then install our Ozone Steriliser machine to sanitise the whole interior of the vehicle as these systems are also proven to kill off Coronavirus and don’t leave anything untouched as it works through the air. So we can all have peace of mind there’s no danger of contamination between hire’s. We then do the handover with social distancing in mind wearing gloves and facemasks.
  15. Q. Do I need travel insurance? A. Yes, we always recommend having travel insurance, if for any reason you are unable to travel it’s best to have travel insurance so you’re covered. We also recommend making sure your travel insurance covers you for covid related issues that aren’t covered by our covid cancellation policy.
